The movie audience data released today by the ICA realize a sharp rise in the number of spectators in the rooms.
In February cinemas received 1.2 million viewers, which generated 6.2 million euros in gross revenue, rises more than 60% compared to the same period in 2014, today unveiled the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual .
Responsible for the increase was the success of “The Fifty Shades of Grey”, seen by 380,000 people. Sam Taylor-Johnson film accounted for 32% of cinema visits in February, a month in which debuted 52 feature films.
The distance to the second most watched film is considerable. “American Sniper”, Clint Eastwood, only sum 179,000 viewers.
The movie audience in Portugal has been falling in the last three years. If the end of 2011 attended the rooms 15.7 million viewers in 2014 the number was only 12 million.
