Soot is the best animated short in Portuguese Monstra – publico

                 


                         
                     

                 

 
                         

The film Soot , the Portuguese David Doutel and Vasco Sá won the SPA Award – Granja Vasco for Best Portuguese Short Film in the 14th edition of Monstra animation film festival, which ends on Sunday with the display of award-winning films.

                     


                          Soot got unanimity of the jury “by having all predicates that ask for a film of this nature,” and yet the Portuguese Competition section also got the Audience Award. In the International Competition section of Short received the Special Jury Prize.

Now the long, The Tale Princess Kaguya , the latest work of the Japanese Isao Takahata , won the Grand Prix RTP. It tells the story of a girl found inside a bamboo cane that once created by a bamboo cutter and his wife moves to the great capital, making it a fine young man captivates all who know her. “touching,” said the jury. In the same section, Sheep Shaun , Mark Burton and Richard Starzak (UK), received the Audience Award and the award for the Best Film for Children and Youth. The movie Song of the Sea, Tomm Moore’s (Ireland) had the Best Soundtrack and the Special Jury Prize.

In short international, Man on the Chair of Dahee Jeong (France) took the Grand Prix RTP and in very short, dedicated to films with less than two minutes, the winners were the films Cupidioulous of Panop Koowat (International Competition ), and Home Dog , Emanuel Barros (Best Portuguese Super Short -. Award FNAC)

In the Student Competition, walking Mend and Make Do of Bexy Bush Bush (UK), received the Best Short International Students – Award Carl Zeiss Vision, and Tele-Sofia , by Ana Fernandes, Manuel Nuno Sá and Mendanha, received the Award Carl Zeiss Vision for Best Short Portuguese students.

The award Best Monstrinha Film went to the movie The Single Life Job , Joris and Marieke (Netherlands) and Cinema Competition Smallest World, one of the novelties of this year, the Golden Peanut was assigned to the movie Supervenus , Frederic Doazan (France).

The 14th edition of Monstra ends this Sunday with the display of the winning films at Cinema São Jorge to 18h (short) and 22h (long) and Cinema City Alvalade to 20h (short) and 22h (long).
