The news of the return of the group to Portugal was given on Thursday evening by Blitz magazine and only confirmed on Friday by the organization.
Blur, who worked at the Port in 2013 the Primavera Sound festival, edit in April the album “The Magic Whip”, the first in over ten years.
“The Magic Whip” is the eighth album and began recording in spring 2013 in Hong Kong. The recordings have ended up in the drawer, with each of the musicians to follow his path, but in late 2014, guitarist Graham Coxon returned to the themes, frontman Damon Albarn wrote the lyrics, the remaining elements joined and the registration was completed.
With a graphic image that refers to China, “The Magic Whip” was co-produced by Stephen Street, who participated in the previous records of Blur.
