The 141 music festivals that took place by the end of August totaled 1.7 million viewers, revealed the Portuguese Association of Music Festivals (Aporfest).
According to the association, 141 music festivals held so far recorded 1.7 million viewers, with Meo Southwest (Zambujeira do Mar) to register the highest ratings, with 188,000 viewers, followed by In Alive (Algés), with 155,000 viewers.
Third, with 100,000 spectators each, include the World Music Festivals Sines, Coura and Crato walls.
The Aporfest estimates that this year will take in a total of 174 music festivals in Portugal, of which 65 percent occur in the summer time, which is almost finished.
“Municipalities, brands, media made their biggest bets [between June and September] trying to attract national and international audience,” said the association, which accounted for the holding this year 48 new music festivals.
Almost thirty festivals that took place in 2014 had no issue in 2015, such as the Fusing in Figueira da Foz.
In October, Association will present a new version of the “Profile of the Portuguese Festival Goer.”
