Sendim Natural, Miranda do Douro municipality, Amadeu Ferreira was born on 29 June 1950. About a year fighting a cancer in the brain.
He was president of Associaçon de la Lhéngua i Mirandesa Culture, president of the Academy of Tras-os-Montes Letters, vice president of the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), visiting professor at the Law Faculty of the New University of Lisbon, Member of the Board from Bragança Polytechnic Institute and since 2004, Commander of the Order of Merit of the Republic.
Author and translator of a vast work in Portuguese and Mirandese, also with aliases Fracisco Niebro, Marcus Miranda and Fonso Roixo, Amadeu Ferreira makes scientific and literary works, in poetry and prose.
