The Simpsons predicted the performance of Lady Gaga at the Super Bowl – Diário de Pernambuco

The Simpsons got it right the future once more. After predicting the presidency of Donald Trump in an episode to be aired in the year 2000, the series anticipated the presentation of Lady Gaga in the Super Bowl in an episode that aired in 2012. The chapter not only predicted Gaga as the artist, but several similarities in the performance, made by the singer in this year’s edition, as well as the suspension cables on the stadium and the choice of the costume.

In a presentation held this Sunday (5), Gaga started the show on the roof of NRG Stadium, while a constellation of lights dressed up to the sky. After chanting some verses of the God bless America and This land is your land (‘This land is your land’, in Portuguese – a possible reference to the decree of Trump’s ban muslims from entering the country), the singer jumps up and flies over the stadium. The presentation continued with her solo, singing the great hits of his career. At the end, she did the famous “mic drop”, throwing the microphone on the floor, the action used by the hip-hop, usually done by the person who took the best during a performance. The show included effects pyrotechnic and about 300 drones. Gaga was the first artist to perform without special guests from The Who in 2010.

In the episode The Simpsons titled Lisa goes Gaga, Lady Gaga goes to Springfield for a show, in which she “flies”, suspended by steel cables, in a costume of brilliant, as well as the singer did during the 15 minutes in the halftime show of Super Bowl 2017. Fans of the series and the singer soon realized the similarity and commented on social networks. “The Simpsons predicted the Super Bowl. I’m shocked!”, commented a fan club of the singer. “The Simpsons designed the Super Bowl of Lady Gaga before she know that it would perform,” commented another user.
