Fans of Radiohead attacked in Turkey for partying during Ramadan – RTP

A group of about 20 men approached and beat customers and employees of the “Velvet IndieGround music store” on Friday night and were drinking alcohol and listening to music during the holy month of Muslims.

They destroyed the store, they launched insults and ended the launch party for the album “The Moon Shaped Pool”.

Images shot during the altercation that are circulating through social networks show the attackers to shoot banks and destroying the store.

A person was seen bleeding with head injuries after being beaten with a bottle, and one of the attackers is seen shouting “we will kill you.”

In a message, Radiohead say: “Our hearts are with the people attacked.”

“We hope one day we can look back to such acts of violent intolerance as the ancient past things. For now, we can only offer our fans in Istanbul our love and support.”

In the past, similar attacks totaled art galleries in the area. Critics say the current conservative Islamic government is undermining the secular tradition of the country.
