Marcelo inaugurates Book Fair and Announces the Belem Palace – Daily News – Lisbon

Fair will be held in September at the official residence of the President

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa inaugurated 86th edition of the book Fair of Lisbon and in the middle of a huge crowd, the President took the opportunity to announce that from September will make “competition” with a book fair in the Belem Palace.

Friendly books, Marcelo is keen to open the official literature.

this year’s edition of the Book Fair has ten new participants, including 123 subscribers, and “a record number of 277 pavilions, “said its technical director, Pedro Pereira da Silva.

Among the novelties of this year, there is the creation of a mobile application,” Lisbon Book Fair “which will be available for Android and iOS. This free application will allow the user to access the map of the event, search for authors, titles and their availability by editor, know the present authors, book presentations and the “books of the day.”

John Amaral, President of the Portuguese Association of Publishers and Booksellers (APEL), the entity that organizes the fair, announced “with great satisfaction” the return of Brazil, with a pavilion, six years after the last presence in that country.

the Fair will first be visited by foreign publishers, an initiative of the Ministry of foreign Affairs and the Agency for Investment and foreign Trade of Portugal (AICEP).
