“Culture is a fundamental door to exit crisis”, defended Lydia … – Daily News – Funchal

The writer Lidia Jorge defended yesterday in Escritaria in Penafiel, where he was honored that “culture is a fundamental door” to exit the crisis.

“In this time of crisis, everyone is to realize that culture is a key to get out of her door,” he said, still commenting: “The culture lives with the bare minimum, but we know that, from it, multiplying, is the maximum of the maximum. ”

The Escritaria festival ended yesterday, after several days with cultural initiatives reported at municipal museum and in the streets and squares of the city, the life and work of Lidia Jorge.

In closing, addressing the writer Mário de Carvalho, honored in the 2013 edition and today participated in the panels, the writer noted, the purpose of the festival:

Recalling the events that inspired the city since Thursday, Lidia Jorge pointed out a phrase that his organization placed at the entrance of the town library.

“I never thought my one sentence could be written on the floor of a library,” he said excitedly.

On the sidewalk at the entrance of that public facility, it reads: “There is no instruction books for his life, only literature approaches this great book.”

According to the writer, it is a “phrase pooling of all who write, edit and translate those who multiply the disclosure
books.”

“I have a great ambition. Just want to be a chronicler of passing time, of my time, of your time, our time.”
