“La La Land” snatches seven Golden Globes on the night of Meryl Streep – Diário de Notícias – Lisbon

The film “La La Land” triumphed on Sunday in the awards of film and television Golden Globe awards, winning seven awards in all categories for which he was appointed.

“La La Land”, a tribute to the nostalgic to the music of the golden age of Hollywood, was considered the best film in the category of comedy or musical, and had also prizes for best director (Damien Chazelle), and the best interpretations of the male and the female, for the pair to Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

On the television the awards were the most contested: “The Crown,” won the category of best drama series and “Atlanta,” ” best comedy series.

The best actor in a drama series was Billy Bob Thornton (“Goliath”) and actress Claire Foy (“The Crown”). In the comedy, the interpretations favorite were Donald Glover (“Atlanta”) and Tracee Ellis Ross (“black-ish”).

The miniseries “The night manager”, from a work of John Le Carré, has won three of the four awards for which he was nominated: best actor miniseries/telefilme (Tom Hiddleston), best actor in a secondary series/telefilme (Hugh Laurie) and best actress secondary series/telefilme (Olivia Colman).

The political moment of the night went to Meryl Streep, winner of the career award, which criticized the President-elect Donald Trump by the rhetoric of disunion.

“You and all of us in this room belong truly to the segments most vilified of american society at this time. Think about it. Hollywood, aliens, and the press,” he said in a tone of joke.

“But who are we? And what is Hollywood, anyway? A lot of people from other sites. Hollywood is full of outsiders and foreigners. If corrêssemos with all, there was nothing to see, soccer and martial arts, which are not fine arts,” he said.
