Died the musician Geoff Nicholls, keyboardist of the Black – the Observer

The british musician Geoff Nicholls, the former keyboardist of Black Sabbath, has died this Saturday, at the age of 68 years. Guitarist Tony Iommi turned to Facebook to announce that the keyboard player had died of lung cancer, while Ozzy Osbourne, vocalist of the group, lamented on Twitter the death of a "great friend".

Born in Birmingham, Geoff Nicholls was part of other bands, such as Quartz and Johnny Neal and the Starliners, but has worked mainly with Black Sabbath, from the 1980s until 2004.

The first collaboration with the group came in 1980 with the album "Heaven and Hell", but just happened to be a musician, official, Black Sabbath in 1986. Still, it was rare Geoff Nicholls appear on stage in the concert hall, preferring behind the scenes.

Currently, he collaborated mostly with Tony Martin, also the former lead singer of Black Sabbath.
