When they were not working at Pixar, Lou Hamou-Lhadj and Andrew Coats were entertained to create their own short animation. This went on for at least five years. the Borrowed Time is the fabulous result of the free time of these two animators from the biggest studio in the world.
The short toured several film festivals in the world before landing on Vimeo, streaming platform where it will be available for a limited time.
Performed by Lou Hamou-Lhadj and Andrew Coats and produced by Amanda Deering Jones, with music from the award-winning Gustavo Santaolalla, Borrowed Time is a short for adults, which, according to the filmmakers, you want to challenge "the notion of the animation to be a genre, and a genre specifically for children", having the aim been to create "something more adult in theme and to show that animation can be a medium to tell any kind of story". Borrowed Time tells the story of a sheriff who returns to the site of a childhood trauma, reliving every detail and giving each step until you reach a cliff.
