The producer of Elvis Presley and the founder of Sun Records will be portrayed in a biographical film.
Leonardo Di Caprio was the actor chosen. Philips founded the publishing house for which Elvis recorded his first records and still have been edited albums and singles of Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Roy Orbison.
Mick Jagger will be the producer. The film is based on the book “The Man Who Invented Rock’n’roll” by Peter Guralnick.
Philips died in 2003.
