Edition No. 10 of the Music Days in Belém, CCB, is entitled “around the world in 80 concerts” and from 22 on 24 April. More than 30,000 tickets are now on sale
It was an informal meeting to exchange ideas on possible themes for the Music Days: someone noted that there had never been an issue that would bring together the scattered music the globe, until somebody threw in summarizing way: “a trip around the world in 80 concerts.” The guess would have enough resonance to come to become the motto of the edition 2016 of the Music Days, yesterday presented at a press conference.
The official opening is the day night 22, in the Grand Auditorium, with a concert of the Metropolitan Symphony traveling by Spain and the Arabian One Thousand and One Nights, but, as in 2015, will be the day before a pre-opening at Cinema São Jorge, in association with the IndieLisboa: the concert film Rondó the Mourner which honors the traditional singing collections made by ethnomusicologist Michel Giacometti in rural Portugal of 60 and 70.
