It’s summer in LXFactory: there is electronic dance music non-stop – Daily News – Lisbon

More than 60 artists on the first electronic music festival done in the winter. Friday and Saturday in Lisbon

Karla Campos already had to his credit two festivals well known to the Portuguese public, Sumol Summer Fest and EDP Cool Jazz. But the ambition to have a festival dedicated to electronic music and that was realized in winter’s was already a lot and now finally materializes, with the Lisbon Dance Festival, between Friday and Saturday based first camps in various areas the LXFactory, with a program that includes more than 60 artists from Portugal and abroad, and a strong presence of national publishers. The pass for the two days cost 50 euros.

Since this is the first edition there is an added challenge, says the DN responsible for producing Live Experiences. “It’s always a challenge to be unknown of all:. Agents, artists, partners, the public and, therefore, the poster, the image, the location, the dates and the price were very well thought out and are a great bet and exactly. to escape from the summer festivals cake, it was thought to winter. ” Because, for Karla Campos, “the winter, and closed spaces are the perfect climate for the underground environment of the electronics”.

The aim of this first year of Lisbon Dance Festival, according to Karla Campos, is reach ten thousand spectators in two nights. This with a sign that includes not only big names in the current landscape of dance music, such as Sven Väth, Motor City Drum Ensemble or Move D, but also with a special emphasis on national production. that bet, with the presence of 16 Portuguese publishers linked to electronic music and dance is evident. The Enchufada (where Buraka Som Sistema were born), the Extended, discs Prince (which from year to year has received increasing international acclaim), One Eyed Jacks (which is part of the Violet producer, who recently created the music for the parade of couture Versace in Paris) or Discotexas are some examples. Karla Campos recalls that some of these publishers “are even more consumed outside than in Portugal, present in clubs and festivals around the world.”

There are four rooms in which divides the Lisbon Dance Festival , jumping also to the Ministerium Club, now in the Palace Square, for sessions after five in the morning, in addition to the spaces that host the Market (in L Factory) and the various debates, conferences and master classes (the Act for All space ). This is, incidentally, one of the distinguishing points of the festival, the present stakeholders with discussions on, for example, the role of radio in the Portuguese musical map (Saturday, 19:00), the sound of the suburbs and the beat of Lisbon (Saturday, 17:30 ) or conferences on how to edit a vinyl record (Saturday, 16.00).

the hip hop is also present in this first Lisbon Dance Festival, as evidenced by the performance of DJ Ride, who on Saturday will premiere event at 23:30 in Zoot room, From Scratch Live show, to which he invited Capicua, Dengaz, HMB, Holly, Jimmy P, MGDRV, Stereossauro and Jack.

After this first edition, the ambitions not slow down. Karla Campos wants the festival to “spread throughout Lisbon and for more days,” and it becomes “an international reference.”
