After an interval of two years, the Silence Festival returns to Lisbon between 2 and 5 July with dozens of concerts, public speeches, talks, exhibitions and other events – a total 150 – dedicated to the word, silence and Portuguese poets.
The festival runs from Thursday to Sunday almost always in Cais do Sodre. – The exceptions are some routes where programming is going to extend to the Star and Field Onion
The word celebration, with the participation of the local community and the public, is the goal. “We believe the more active role of spectators, as a participant, working at the festival,” said Gonçalo Strike in presenting the festival in early June, as reports the agency Lusa.
The Silence of the Festival opens this Thursday, July 2, at St. Paul with the Lisbon Poetry Orchestra, a collective of seven musicians, poets and reciters who will play surrealist poets.
There will be meetings about literature, the relationship with music, science and silence, with authors such as José Eduardo Agualusa, Jaime Rocha, Ana Cassia Rebelo and Afonso Cruz and musicians Sérgio Godinho and Aldina Duarte.
