The German is a doctor of Public.en

I Stole the title to David because I know that it does not matter and also because he was there when I met Germano Silva, in the first editorial that I worked on, after the internship. The German rode by there and I, who was of the Port, but knew little of the city, spent hours listening to him tell the stories of this enchanted place that I barely knew. Some colleagues of the drafting smiled, where, after one more day of work, decidíamos go to dinner, and I walked to the side of the German, or he sat by my side on the table chosen. "There you’ll have to put up with", they said to me, playing. But I didn’t really care. Because the German was already a doctor, a doctor of the giant in all that he came out naturally on this Port that exists and one that has already disappeared. Which Port was this that he spoke as only speaks to those who have a place engraved in the soul, well beyond any knowledge that was learned in old books and documents? I never got to a stop I dazzle with the "lessons" of the German, even though they are during a ride undercover of the interview.

This Thursday, the University decided to formalize what all of those who live with the German already knew. He is a doctor. It was a ceremony beautiful, and the German was happy. Before he go up to the great hall of the rectory, I was espreitá it, with Sergio, the head of the procession of the Academy. The photographers who sensed the happiness of the Germano did not allow us to get to walk him and give him a hug, but we were close enough for him to see as we were happy with it, in the nod that you left them. When the procession passed, applaud, noisy, on the outside of the hall, breaking the protocol. And, there within, I came to the ceremony, almost all to cry. I was not the only one. Vasco da gama, who asked me a tissue, confessed to me that she cried almost as much as I do. We were happy and it is good to weep for happiness.

what struck me (and also to Vasco, I believe) was to know that the German deserves, and realize that, if so rare, honored him at the right time. When the German, with some 85 years you know the a couple of decades at least, is here with us to enjoy in full this phd honoris causa and the beautiful work that your newspaper, the Journal News, for him (and us all) offered. The professor Luís Miguel Duarte, who heard between tears, made the praise of the German, referring, among other qualities, your humility and your talent. I just wanted to say, congratulations and thank you, Germano. Without doctor. Because I know that you will wonder if you treat for Dr. Germano.
