Family confirms film about Ayrton Senna to 2019 – Newspaper Correio do Povo

The life of one of the greatest idols of brazilian sport will return to the big screen. After the documentary “Senna”, produced by the same team that created the Oscar-winner “Amy”, about Amy Winehouse, the family of Ayrton Senna has confirmed that the trajectory of the athlete, three-time world champion of Formula 1 will be taken to the cinemas. The information is that the project is in progress and that the screenplay of the feature film is already in development.

The release plan for the film also starts to be plotted. And the arrival to the screens, thus far, is scheduled for 2019, the year in which they complete 25 years of his death after an accident during the Grand prix of Imola, in Italy, in 1994. The family for years, negotiates with the studios to bring the life of the pilot to the screens – Warner, for example, has arrived to start the conversations, a long with actor Antonio banderas as the interpreter of the brazilian.

In an interview, the director of branding of the Institute Ayrton Senna and niece of the pilot elected the largest in the history by the british broadcaster in 2012, Bianca Senna, has confirmed the trading frustrated with the studio. “Actually we had negotiations with Warner in the year before last, but after that we don’t go back to talk more,” he said.

For the new film, there is still no information about a studio responsible for the production, but people in the circle of the pilot, as a businessman, Antonio Carlos de Almeida Braga, the singer Fagner, and partners with Bira Guimarães, are already being heard by the writers.
