After three years of critically acclaimed debut album Gisela João is surprised with a new album. "Bare" arrives in stores this Friday.
The singer "stripped off" from the pressures and displays a disk with the songs that you like most. Gisela João performed "Naked" at first-hand, this Thursday night, to the Journal of the Night of the SIC. In an interview with Rodrigo Guedes de Carvalho, explained that, thanks to the success of the first album — "Gisela João" (2013) – has had much work and still had not managed to burn another disk.
however, it was writing the new disk to the few songs he always liked and in which is a certain purity. Fate, of course. The singer, who likes to dictation, believes that "the one who gives the who has the most is not obliged, a promise that gave everything that was able to in the new work.
In the 13 songs interpreted by the artist, Gisela João, resorted to words written by great poets. For example, "There are words that kiss" of Alexander O’neil, "the Wreck" by the brazilian poet Cecília Meireles and "the Labyrinth or it was nothing", David Mourão-Ferreira. Also Capicua wrote to the singer, the song "the Night of St. John".
For the work in the Journal of the Night, the singer chose the song "Lord Extraterrestrial" for the sake of timeliness. Is that Gisela João, expects "this alien who appeared to us now is as cuddly as he (the song)", a clear reference to the new President of the United States, Donald Trump. The song was written by Carlos Paião to Amália Rodrigues.
