During the first half of next year, Adriana Calcanhotto is going to be a guest lecturer of the Faculty of Letters, University of Coimbra (UC), announced this Thursday the institution. Between February and June 2017, the cantautora the brazilian will write a book for children about the UC, and “to develop a plan of activities intense” at the Faculty of Letters.
Among those activities are “open lectures in conjunction with the areas of Portuguese and Art Studies, workshops on writing and artistic production, lectures and exhibitions”, advances the UC. The brazilian singer and composer will be in Coimbra at the invitation of the rector and the Institute of Brazilian Studies of the Faculty of Letters of the university of coimbra.
The coordinator of the Institute of Brazilian Studies, Osvaldo Manuel Silvestre, highlighted the “profile rare” Adriana Calcanhotto, who “devoureth the legacy of Caetano Veloso as the poetry of Mário de Sá-Carneiro, or the practical art of Hélio Oiticica, without forgetting the large collection of brazilian popular music, Dorival Caymmi to bossa nova and the Roberto Carlos”.
In his opinion, “makes, therefore, sense that Adriana is, for a semester, invited professor” at the faculty, so that everyone can learn from it.
