The movie” And Now? Reminds me “, Joaquim Pinto, was chosen by the Portuguese Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Portuguese Academy of Cinema) to represent Portugal in 2015 as a candidate for Oscar for Best Foreign Film, the organization announced today.
In a statement sent to Lusa, the Portuguese Film Academy announced that this was the film chosen by the members to represent the country in that category of the Oscars from the Academy of American Cinema.
” And Now? Remember me “is an autobiographical documentary produced by CRIM Productions premiered in late August at Ideal Cinema in Lisbon, and has awarded in several festivals of domestic and foreign cinema.
It tells the story of own Joaquim Pinto, over twenty years and living with AIDS and Hepatitis C through various notes on clinical trials with toxic drugs, memories and love.
The documentary was awarded the Festival Locarno, Switzerland, with the Special Jury Prize, the Critics Award and the Young Jury Award.
Also was awarded, among others, festivals DocLisboa in International Encounters Documentary in Montréal, and in Cineport in Brazil.
Built in 2011, the Portuguese Film Academy, chaired by producer Paulo Trancoso, is composed of over a hundred members, from filmmakers, actors, producers and cinematographers.
