The choice of the Portuguese Academy of Film fell on the autobiographical documentary filmmaker Joaquim Pinto
The members of the Portuguese Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences chose the movie” And Now You remember me ” Joaquim Pinto to represent Portugal as a candidate for the Oscar for Best Foreign Film.
autobiographical documentary, tells the story of the director Joaquim Pinto, who lives with HIV and HCV for nearly 20 years. “And now? Remember me” is the notebook of one year of clinical trials with toxic drugs and not approved for HCV. An open and eclectic reflection about time and memory, epidemics and globalization, survival beyond the expected, dissension and absolute love. In a back and forth between the present and the past, the film is also a tribute to friends who left and those who remain.
“What Now? Remember Me,” which debuted commercially in Portugal last day September 4, met a path of success for the film festival circuit, having been awarded in Locarno with the Special Jury Prize.
