The Municipality of Albufeira organized a two-day program to mark the celebrations of World Tourism Day, this year under the theme “Tourism and Community Development.”
On September 26, a group of students, journalists and local politicians will visit places of tourist interest in the county and several hotels which, by their good practices are considered prominent feature within the theme of the celebrations.
On the 27th, as has happened in previous years, the Municipality is associated with the transport companies EVA, Douro Above Turistrem and Albucoop, with the aim of promoting mobility as a factor in tourism development.
Thus, residents, visitors and tourists can take to move in walk through the city without paying, between 09:00 and 13:00 in the Giro and buses Sightseeing.
At the same time, children up to 11 years can travel free on the Tourist Train. The taxi cooperative of Albufeira, in collaboration with the Municipality, also joins the initiative by distributing gifts to those who choose taxi as means of transport.
Also those who choose to visit the Municipal Museum of Archaeology , in the city center, you can do so without having to pay the usual entrance fee.
Whereas Tourism and Culture are inseparable, the Albufeira Municipal Council decided to integrate the European Heritage Days “, this year under the theme “Heritage, always a discovery” Celebrations of the World Tourism Day.
So, on the 26th, by 10:30, taking advantage of the programmed Castle Paderne visit, the Municipality decided to promote the presentation of the farm return (exterior) of the Castle, an initiative that is inserted under the “Castles of the Reconquista” project.
