It has now been revealed one of the bands that will be present. Name of weight: Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band Anthony Kiedis and Flea will ascend the stage on the first day of the festival, July 13, and will surely be head-of-poster of the opening.
The band popularized by way crosses the rock with the mechanics of the funk returns once in Portugal, after in previous years have acted, for example, in Rock In Rio 2006, or on two dates in the then Atlantic Pavilion, in 2002. The concert, already announced on the official website of the band, is integrated in the tour of promotion to The Getaway, published last July.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers were formed in 1983 and had their first big moment of media exposure and critical acclaim with Blood Sugar Sex Magik, the album of 1991 where were extracted the classics of the band such as Give it away or Under the bridge. the Californication, the album of 1999, which featured two new songs, the theme-title, and Scar tissue, introduced them to a new generation of fans.
The band is currently formed by two founding members, vocalist Anthony Kiedis and bassist Flea, joined drummer Chad Smith, in the group since 1988, and guitarist Josh Klindhoffer, recruited to the band in 2007.
