The films “Before the time did not end”, of the brazilian Sergio Andrade and Fábio Baldo, and “Rare”, of the chilean Pepea San Martín, were the most award-winning on the twentieth film festival, Queer Lisboa, which ended yesterday, revealed the organization.
The brazilian film Before the time has not ended combines documentary and fiction, won the jury award for best feature film and thanks to Anderson Tikuna the best actor. “The film questions the point of view of sexual, geographic, cultural, ethnic, and political and avoids any stereotypes,” said the jury, made by Andrea Inzerillo, Rodrigo Gerace and Susanne Sachsse.
Rare, chilean Pepa San Martín, won the audience award and the best female representation for Julia Lubbert.
In the competition of documentaries, the award went to the Irrawaddy Mon Amour (Italy), Valeria Testagrossa, Nicola Grignani and Andrea Zambelli, is included in a wedding between two men in Burma, where the union between persons of the same sex is prohibited.
1992, a French production of Anthony Doncque, received the award for best short film “by the way, touching as it reveals the discovery of sexuality in the context of the beginning of the 1990s,” says the jury, even though the audience has chosen to Pink boy, Erick Rockey.
In the category of best film school, won the short Portuguese <> > > > > Children, Madonna and Child, Death and Transfiguration, Ricardo Vieira in Lisbon, and in the competition, “Queer Art” has won Passion JL (Brazil), Carlos Nader.
The Queer Lisboa, the only Portuguese festival dedicated to the theme gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and transsexual, fulfilled twenty editions with a schedule of 114 films, from 28 countries.
While preparing the edition of Queer Porto, the organization announces the dates of the next edition: to be held from 15 to 23 September 2017.
The second edition of Queer Porto will take place from 5 to 9 October and the schedule will be announced on Tuesday.
