The designer Hideo Kojima revealed more details about Death Stranding, his first game out of Konami. According to him, the title will include the humor found in their games earlier and will not be a horror story, unlike the dreary weather and surreal that its trailers have so far offered.
Talking with the site Glixel, Kojima explained: “I don’t have a mindset bleak, in particular. Death Stranding is not a horror game. I just wanted to do something that was very original, something that you have never seen before, more to the artistic side. I’m not chasing a dark side to the game”.
Although it is not yet clear how much Kojima will use his experience in the past with Konami, there is one aspect of the Metal Gear franchise that will also be on their new game. “Humor is very important in the games. You play a game for a long time — and Death Stranding is also great — and the players are subjected to a certain stress while they explored it. Humor is an important aspect to ensure that the players can take advantage of all of this,” Kojima said. “Then we will have humor in this game also, but at a level that does not affect the ambiance of the world. Will be in an appropriate amount.”
Kojima also spoke briefly about the process of choice to make Death
Kept a secret for months,, Death Stranding should be released at some point before 2019 exclusively for the PlayStation 4, and may to present a heroine as the protagonist. The game is being developed in the graphic engine Decima, the property of Guerrilla Games, the studio behind Horizon Zero Dawn.
