The director Fernando Avila died on Saturday after 61 years at the Hospital S. Francisco Xavier, cancer victim, told the Lusa news agency close to the director source.
Sunday, the body’s director will be from 14:00 in the Church of St. John of God in Lisbon where on Monday a funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00.
The funeral follows then to the Alto de S. João Cemetery, where the director’s body will be cremated.
The short film “peripheral hearts”, 1991, with Carlos Have argument (and a song by Rui Veloso), is among the director’s works of fiction. The film was part of a series of four episodes – four short films of Portuguese filmmakers just beginning their careers, as Manuel Mozos and Luis Alvarães – on “teenagers on a trip without return.”
