The festival Cash Ribeira, the Oporto version box Alfama, returns 3 and 4 June for a second edition that will perform 40 singers in ten different sites. The first four poster names were announced Wednesday by Luis Montez, head of The Sound of Music: Simone de Oliveira, António Zambujo, Raquel Tavares and Kiko.

The own House of Prince, which took place on press conference Wednesday, is another of updates to 2016: there will take place some of the festival’s concerts, which will also pass through the two rooms of the Hard Club, the Church of San Francisco (and its staircase) and the Cais da Estiva. Like a year ago, the Palácio da Bolsa again be one of the centers of gravity box Ribeira, with concerts in the Arab Hall and the Hall of Nations; the main festival stage returns to the Customs parking, along the Douro river.

As Kiko , young Porto 15 years will take this opportunity to present his new album and show to the public, also Raquel Tavares will present new album Rachel , scheduled for release later this month. The singer has been a recurring presence at the festival: was in Porto last year’s edition, was twice Cash Alfama and also joined the festival Extension poster in Luanda, which was held last month November. Said that this return to Porto will pay tribute to the recently deceased Beatriz da Conceição, who claimed to be one of its “most reference singers.”

Also the return of Simone in Porto promises to be emotional: the city, he said, reminded him memorable moments of his life, both good and bad. For the actress and singer, makes “perfect sense” there is a fado festival:. The last ten years, argued, “has sung the fado as never sang”

The remaining names 30 artists who make up the poster will be released over the next few weeks, at a rate of four at a time, until the end of March. “I must say that we have the largest fleet of fado. The big singers will be here all, “assured Luis Montez, underlining the reception” very warm “the Porto public, which last year sold out the festival” despite the rain. “

The organization announced also partnered with ten restaurants in the neighborhood, which will guarantee a menu Cash Ribeira with a fixed price and menu. “See fado with empty stomach does not fit well,” joked Luis Montez. The aim is to join the local cuisine to experience.

Until the day before the festival, the price of the general ticket will cost 28 euros, rising to 35 in the days of the festival. Francisco Viana, communications director of the Caixa Geral de Depósitos, which sponsors the festival, noted that the customers of the bank will be entitled to a discount of 10%.
