A life-size statue of Amy Winehouse will be built in Camden, London, near the house where he lived the singer, who died in July 2011, after ingesting a large amount of alcohol.
The tribute to the singer will be created by Scott Eaton and will be placed in the London Borough, contrary to what was initially predicted.
“I had a meeting in the city of Camden and dissseram me that they usually do not allow statues until 20 years after the death of the person concerned, but in the case of Amy made an exception,” said Mitch Winehouse, father of Amy, who continued: “It is a great honor to have the statue there. Amy was and continues to be an integral part of Camden, so we could not think of putting a statue of her anywhere else, do you? “.
The statue, whose design has been closely watched by the family of Amy Winehouse and will incorporate his famous hairstyle, will be unveiled on 14 September, the date on which the artist would celebrate his 31st birthday.
