This is the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival – Shifter

They were finally made known the films that will be present at the 69th edition of the French festival which will take place between 11 and 22 May.

In addition to the already announced Cafe Society , the new film Woody Allen that will open the festival, there are many other great names of cinema in Cannes.

Jim Jarmush will have two films on display by French lands: Paterson in competition, starring Adam Driver (you may know as Adam series Girls ) and Gimme Danger , a documentary about the Stooges band out of it.

Present also at the festival’s official competition will be the new film by Pedro Almodóvar, Juliet , whose story is based on short stories by Alice Munro, winning Canadian writer of the Nobel prize for Literature in 2013.

Juste La Fin de Monde , the new film already recognized throughout the public Xavier Dolan also competing for the Golden Palm. With a star cast that includes names like Marion Cotillard, Vincent Cassel and Lea Seydoux, the latest French-Canadian work tells the story of a writer with a terminal illness who returns home 12 years after announcing his imminent death to the family. In 2014, with Mommy, Dolan was the youngest director in competition and caught the eye and received the Jury Prize and an effusive ovation from the audience. Repeat the feat?

Elle , Paul Verhoeven , director who will be honored this year in IndieLisboa, marks the Dutch return to the Cannes competition, having been on the list in 1992 with the famous Basic Instinct Sharon Stone. Elle , debuts with a film in French. A heavy story, starring Isabelle Huppert, who plays an executive of a video game company that is violated in a raid on his home.

In good Portuguese, Kleber Mendonça Filho It will also be in evidence. In his latest film Acquarius Sonia Braga is a widow composer and reformed with a special ability to travel in time.

in competition there is the presence the BFG Steven Spielberg , the adaptation of a book by Roald Dahl, with the stamp of Disney, Money Monster Jodie Foster , a thriller about the abduction of a television star with George Clooney and Julia Roberts and Nice Guys , Shane Black with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling play two unconventional private detectives investigating the disappearance of a porn star and eventually uncover a conspiracy, all in the past in 1970.
