Melancholy Mood was originally recorded by Frank Sinatra
Last year, Bob Dylan released Shadows In The Night a fully dedicated album to Frank Sinatra covers – and, in 2016, announced a similar disk, honoring classical standards, but now also with songs from artists such as Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Sammy Cahn and Carolyn Leigh. Entitled Fallen Angels , the new record comes to the market on May 20, with 12 tracks.
The first of these has just been released – and refers to the successor Shadows in The Night , for just being a Sinatra song. Melancholy Mood originally came out in 1939, as a B-side of the first singer’s career single.
Dylan will tour to promote the new work, starting in Tokyo, now in April, and ending in the United States on June 17. See the tracklist of Fallen Angels below:
