The ‘Belmonte’ novel, issued by TVI, was nominated for Best Telenovela in the Emmy, international awards that honor the best television programs from around the world.
“Belmonte”, named only Portuguese novel, competes with productions of the Philippines, Brazil and Canada.
Adapted by Artur Ribeiro, the novel tells the story of five brothers adopted by a family who engage in dispute over inheritance from his father. Were part of the cast Filipe Duarte, John Catarré, Marco d ‘Almeida, Diogo Amaral and Ortigão Lourenço, among many others.
